Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 tbsp Ghee (Clarified Butter)
  • 2 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes, then drain.
  2. Heat the ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them crackle for a few seconds.
  3. Add the drained rice to the pan and sauté for a minute, making sure the rice is coated with ghee.
  4. Add 2 cups of water and salt to the pan. Stir well.
  5. Cover the pan and let it cook on low heat until the rice is cooked and all the water is absorbed. This should take about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Fluff the rice gently with a fork to separate the grains.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
